The dressing can typically be left in place for 3 to 7 days, depending on the amount of exudate. It should be changed when the "bubble" of absorbed fluid reaches near the edge of the dressing.
Is the dressing completely waterproof?
Yes, our hydrocolloid dressing features a PU film outer layer that is waterproof and bacteria-proof, allowing you to shower without removing the bandage.
Can I use this on an infected wound?
Hydrocolloid dressings are generally recommended for non-infected wounds. If you suspect an infection (increased redness, heat, or pus), please consult a healthcare professional before use.
Does it hurt to remove the dressing?
No. The hydrocolloid gel layer does not stick to the moist wound bed itself, only to the surrounding dry skin, which minimizes pain and trauma during removal.
Can I cut the dressing to a specific size?
Yes, the large 4x4 or 5x5 inch pads can easily be cut with sterile scissors to fit smaller wounds or specific areas like fingers or heels.
